Getting Started with Northeast Orthodontics
Once you are officially a patient at NEO, our team will dedicate themselves to giving you the healthy, beautiful smile that you've always wanted. Our skilled staff will ensure that your orthodontic care is not only excellent, but as efficient and convenient as possible. We use the latest technology and offer treatment options that will give you the customized, individual care you deserve.
Initial Consultation
During your complimentary consultation, you will have the opportunity to meet both Dr. Reynolds and our rock star team! You will receive a comprehensive examination and get the opportunity to discuss which treatment options are right for you. During the consultation appointment, Dr. Reynolds and the Treatment Coordinator will:
- Review your dental and medical history forms to ensure you are ready to begin treatment
- Provide you with a complimentary oral exam, including X-rays and photos
- Create your individual, orthodontic treatment plan that meets your objectives
- Discuss your financial options, including insurance benefits if applicable, and create a customized payment plan to fit your budget
Same Day Start Availability Guarantee
Once you are ready to begin treatment, we are ready for you! We accommodate busy schedules and always can get you started the same day as your consultation if you so desire, or at a time convenient for you and your family.
If you have chosen braces as your appliance of choice for treatment, we will bond your brackets and send you off with your braces care instructions. This process typically takes about half an hour.
If you have chosen to begin Invisalign® clear aligner treatment or LightForce custom braces, the next step is to scan your teeth using our iTero digital scanner and begin the digital treatment planning. This process typically takes ten minutes or less.
Appointments During Treatment
Braces: Regular orthodontic adjustments usually occur every 6 weeks. These appointments generally last about 10-30 minutes. We are happy to offer a variety of office hours to accommodate your busy schedule. Pro-tip: schedule out your orthodontic appointments a few months so you get the appointment time you want!
Invisalign®: Regular Invisalign appointment usually occur every 8-10 weeks. Because you will be changing out your own trays, it is important you follow all directions Dr. Reynolds and staff gives you so your treatment will stay on a progressive track. Trays are usually changed every 1-2 weeks. Trays must be worn at least 22 hours per day. New Invisalign® attachments will be placed on the teeth as new sets of trays are ordered. This occurs at a customized pace for each patient. For our busiest patients we offer a Virtual Care platform, that allows you to be treated almost entirely remotely.
General Dental Care During Orthodontic Treatment
We recommend you continue to visit your general dentist for an exam/cleaning every six months during your orthodontic treatment. If you happen to require dental work that necessitates orthodontic wires to be removed, we are happy to work with your dentist to accommodate their needs. In some cases, dental cleanings are more efficient when wires are removed and we are absolutely available to remove/replace wires when needed.
